This 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Convertible arrives finished in Space Gray over a red leather bucket-seat interior beneath a black power convertible top. Restoration and modification was performed by Doug’s Classic Restoration of Yelm, Washington in 2019 including a whole-car repaint. Motivation comes from a 500hp 6.2-liter LS3 V8, breathing freely through a Precision Metal Craft intake manifold and fuel rails plus Hedman headers, topped with Clayton Machine Works valve covers. Supporting hardware includes an Edelbrock water pump, a Drive Junky accessory drive system, Prothane engine mounts, and a DeWitts aluminum radiator backed by dual SPAL electric fans for reliable cooling. Power is routed through a GM 4L80E automatic overdrive transmission to a Currie 9-inch rear end, giving this Chevelle the durable drivability of a modern performance platform beneath its iconic vintage contours. The chassis has been comprehensively upgraded to match the engine's output. Stopping power comes from Baer four-wheel disc brakes with 6-piston calipers and 13-inch rotors, while handling is managed by a RideTech RidePro X adjustable air-ride suspension system with upgraded front/rear control arms and sway bars. Power rack-and-pinion steering with a Borgeson steering box sharpens driver feel, and three-piece Forgeline CV3C wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires hold the road. The firewall has been smoothed and detailed, reflecting diligent attention paid throughout the build, coordinated with the cowl-induction hood and Ringbrothers billet hinges. Inside, the cabin has been updated with Vintage Air A/C, a RetroSound stereo, a Dakota Digital-style gauge cluster, and billet interior controls. Additional service work is reported in August and September of 2026, presenting this well-executed restomod in a stunning, turnkey state of tune. A 2025 appraisal, recent records, two keys, and a convertible top boot cover are included in the sale.
