1977 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 Coupe

Produced only for 1976 and 1977, the European-market Carrera 3.0 was Porsche’s top naturally aspirated 911 of the period, combining a 200-horsepower 3.0-liter flat-six with a lightweight chassis and serving as the direct predecessor to the 911SC. One of just 2,564 Carrera 3.0 Coupes produced during the model’s brief two-year run, this 1977 example is finished in Guards Red over a black interior and is supported by nearly 20 years of service records documenting more than $40k in maintenance and repairs. This rare and highly collectible Carrera 3.0 is now being offered for auction in Florida. This example was reportedly refinished in its original Guards Red approximately 10 years ago and is said to remain in very good overall condition. Compared with standard 911 models of the period, the Carrera 3.0 features wider rear fender flares, while this example is further equipped with a front chin spoiler, headlamp washers, bright window surrounds, dual side mirrors, an optional sunroof, slim Euro-spec rear bumperettes, and 16” Fuchs alloy wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires dated from 2015. The optional rear window wiper has been removed and will accompany the sale. The black interior features adjustable front bucket seats, folding rear seatbacks, a three-spoke leather steering wheel, power windows, an aftermarket leather gear knob, Carrera-script floor mats, aftermarket speakers, a Blaupunkt AM/FM cassette radio, and an under-dash Blaupunkt equalizer. The seller notes that all accessories are fully functional apart from the air conditioning system. Power comes from a naturally aspirated 3.0-liter flat-six rated at 200 HP, featuring an aluminum crankcase derived from the contemporary 930 Turbo and Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed Type 915 manual transaxle, while four-wheel disc brakes and independent torsion-bar suspension underpin the chassis. The seller states that the engine was rebuilt several years ago at approximately 132k miles, and extensive service documentation will accompany the sale. This 911 is offered with owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, and a clean title.
