1957 Jaguar XK140 Roadster

This 1957 Jaguar XK140 roadster was refurbished in the 1990s, and it has been refinished in red over Biscuit and Red leather. The car is powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission and is equipped with a removable Sand soft top, side curtains, 16″ wire wheels, fog lights, front disc brakes, and adjustable seats. It was acquired by the current owner on BaT in November 2022 and reportedly completed the Seattle-to-Monterey Pebble Beach Motoring Classic in anticipation of the Concours d’Elegance in August 2026. This XK140 is now offered in California on dealer consignment at no reserve with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, a tonneau cover, a reproduction owner’s manual, tools, and a clean Washington title. Finished from the factory in Black, the car was repainted red in the 1990s and features a removable Sand soft top, side curtains, a split windshield, fog lights, and full-width chrome bumpers with overriders. The 16″ knock-off wire wheels were installed under current ownership, and they are mounted with Michelin X blackwall tires measuring 185R16. A spare is stored under the trunk floor, and braking is handled by aftermarket front discs and rear drums. The adjustable seats have been re-trimmed in Biscuit and Red leather, and interior appointments include a cabin heater, a defroster, a folding rear bulkhead, and door storage pockets. The four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation consisting of a reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer, a 140-mph speedometer, and an ammeter alongside gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 9k miles, approximately 7k of which were added under current ownership. The seller states the mileage is not accurate, and total mileage is unknown. The 3.4-liter inline-six featured dual SU carburetors from the factory for a rating of 190 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque. An aluminum radiator has been installed. Cylinder head stamping G9536-8 is shown above, and a corresponding number is listed on the chassis plate as well as the Heritage Trust certificate. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. An area of rust on the underside is shown in the gallery. The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate shows factory colors and equipment as well as a build date of November 16, 1956. The car is titled in Washington using body number F13078, and chassis number 813005 is shown on the chassis plate above.
